I would like you include everything you can! Have you considered using OCR software to convert the pamphlets to plain text for easier reading?

Have never used OCR software. Remember: I'm the guy that doesn't know how to use Code on this bulletin board to create columns. . .I used to dial "Popcorn" on a kitchen wall mounted rotary phone (with a party line, no less) to get the correct time. . . Quick question to ensure I understand the concept: I would scan a pamphlet, save it as a JPEG or PDF and the OCR software would extract the words from the image and allow me to cut & paste into a new location, right ?

Correct. Simple—but good enough for you needs—OCR software may have been included with your scanner, which is why I asked. It has been a while since I have needed to do OCR, but there seem to be a few options in the Microsoft Store.

@cptbilly:Congrats on the pickup! I never pursued this set myself, so I am looking forward to your posts of it.
As far as including the pamphlets...
As you have seen, I enjoy including a piece's available literature in my posts. It definitely requires extra time, but I think of the posts as reference sources for other/future collectors and justify the time spent on that basis!
IMO, images of the pamphlet pages are fine/preferable - I like to see the original source when possible!
Thanks for sharing!

Three relatively recent films germane to the subject matter came to mind as I assembled the posts for the first two medals:
Christopher Nolan's 2017 "Dunkirk" and Joe Wright's "Darkest Hour", also released in 2017. Both were Oscar winners. Gary Oldman's turn as Winston Churchill in the latter movie earned him the Best Actor nod from the Academy Awards and British Academy Film Awards. "Dunkirk" earned 8 nominations and 3 Oscars.
2010's "The King's Speech" tells the story of King George VI's speech impediment -- a severe stammer -- and his relationship with Lionel Logue, an Australiam-born speech therapist. Director Tom Hooper's film earned 12 Academy Award nominations and picked up 4 Oscars.

Quote: The single photo version butts up against the 300KB photo limit. Thoughts ? Not much you can do other than hosting on another site, but I prefer the images you posted above it.

Thanks to all for your feedback. About the flyers / literature inserts: As with the flyers for MACO's Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU series, the WW2 flyers were printed on two sides. The original owner had access to two flyers per medal. Perhaps he subscribed to two medals per issue; he could have requested additional flyers from PAM. With two pamphlets he was able to cut them into newspaper style columns and affix them to standard bond paper without sacrificing content and in the correct orientation. He was meticulous but not perfect, as you'll see from images in this thread topic. Presidential Art / MACO issued the inserts on at least two stock sizes: 7-1/8" W x 9-1/2" H and 4-1/4" W x 9-1/2 H. The inserts were folded to fit into 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" medal boxes: Formatting of the flyers changed over the life of the series, including the color of the printing stock. As I've mentioned, when there was a lot of historical ground to cover, they reduced the font sizes to maximize word count. Early flyers included page numbering. I have two intact flyers to share when their time comes: Issue # 5 --the Doolittle seen above-- and Issue # 24 -- Remagen Bridgehead. >>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<Medal posts will appear as time permits. As of now, the plan is to post the final two medals of the series, "A Tribute to the Armed Forces" and "A Tribute to the Civilian War Effort" on Monday, November 11th - Veterans Day / Remembrance Day.
