As a general rule,(never clean coins). Because that coin has no collector value you could clean it if you wanted to.

I see a very zinc pocked cent. That coin is destined to rot out at some point.

I see no harm in giving this one a face lift and polishing it up a bit.
But please don't get into a habit of cleaning all your coins - you'll end up with a bunch shiny, worthless coins.

thanks for the info...
might clean it with some .. acetone ...then place it into a place of its own ..

i have never cleaned a coin before.....might give it a go before it gets any worse
