This summer, I purchased this collection of ancient Chinese coins from an online auction while in I was in Japan. The owner did not know anything about their provenance. I won this after a bidding war, and so at least one other person thought that they might be genuine!
Because of the prevalence of fakes, I know that these are likely fake... Maybe someone here can tell me whether these coins are fake or genuine?

Thanks in advance, and I hope that I can repay the favor one day!
Will gladly answer any questions about how I obtained this collection too!

@japan, buying Chinese ancients with no provenance is not a great starting point. I have my doubts about some of the pieces but honestly am not qualified to offer more than a guess.

We have a few experts in this area who pop in occasionally. Hopefully one of them can weigh in with more confidence. You might help them out by providing close up images, weights, and dimensions especially for the spade and knife money.

The "#" symbols in the above post were the Chinese characters that I had entered ... I see that they don't show up. Oh well....

I tried to research as much as I could at my end.

(1) The three-hole spade coin is a fake with almost 99.99% certainty.
- It is identical to an extremely rare three-hole spade that sold at auction for $591,000 in 2012
(Source: https://primaltrek.com/blog/2012/12...ole-spades/).
- Also available on ebay for $4.28 (link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/387279046909

I know that this discovery casts a doubt on the authenticity of the entire lot, but...
(2) The knife money is similar to this one currently for auction at CNG and Vcoins.
Its size and weight are similar.
