Wow. The difference is obvious. 2024 details are much weaker.

These changes were implemented as part of the 2021 changes. From the Mint Website:

"The obverse features a refreshed depiction of Adolph A. Weinman's full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The use of technological advancements resulted in a design that is now a closer reflection of Weinman's original vision "

Which is another way of saying, you get a worse version of the coin.

the 2024 units look more year old pocket pieces..

I know what you mean. The fields, rim, edge, etc are all up to snuff. The design, whatever that's official called, are just so devoid of detail, washed out I call it, it's really noticable. So that's my only problem, it's not scratched at all, the handling was ok. I think it's the new die making process.

It looks like I have the images compressed enough now, sorry it took so long. This is a 2021 type 2. I think it's quality is in between 2019 and 2024. IMO it's just getting worse as we go along here. And I know they replace the dies every, I think it's 50,000 strikes per die set? That's how we ended up with about 45000 population of the 2008 rec of 2007, the reverse die only had about 5000 strikes, someone didn't catch that the 2008 reverse die was a different design and should have been destroyed.
