1948 Madagascar 1 Franc (this and the next coin aren't as nice as Hondo's beautiful specimens!):

Quote: aren't as nice as Hondo's Thank you, NumisRob! Yours are still very nice, and most of your coins put my others to shame.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I got distracted (and miscounted the dates) and forgot to post this beauty from 1949. The year 1368 AH starts in 1948 AD, so, close enough? Yemen, 1/8 riyal, 1368 AH = 1948/9 AD (mostly 1949). Actual 1948 coin next post (better preserved, though not as much as the example posted by Dearborn).

1948. Properly this time. Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, 1 franc. One of just two types produced by this French territory (the other one is a 2 francs, which I don't have). My next possible entry is 1947; this period is unusually well covered in the photographed part of my collection. [EDIT: both coins were photographed the right way up! And used to display the right way up, too; it's a bug with handling rotation on smartphone photos, which affected all my pics for several months in 2016-17.]
