1947. Not a particularly rare type but not exactly the most common one either...   States of Jersey, 1/12 shilling. I like the font on the numerals here. Quote:

So yeah, not a particularly easy coin to acquire. Thx @j1m. Yes it is both scarce and popular. I'm pretty sure that my grandfather picked it up when they first were first minted. Unfortunately, here in the US, whizzing of coins was popular in some numismatic circles during the 1950s and 1960s. For sure it would come back in a body bag if I submitted it, but it is pretty cool to own a bit of history like this even in such a damaged condition. "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
