I have two K. Half dollars (1776-1976) year from my collection. After close inspection I found one of them had an incomplete set of 13 stars on the reverse. Is this a known die error?

I can just barely see the appears to be a smudge of a start of the 12th and 13th stars, and nothing for the 11th. Fortunately, I only have a canon A580, but with some play and 6x magnifier I was able to get a shot.

Not a die error, just a grease filled die- a relatively common occurrence that only brings a premium when major portions of detail are obscured

Thanks biochemist6. Makes sense the die is filled, therefore no final material squeezed into the star mold area.

Here is another example that I plucked from change in the 80s as a kid, I present to you the Quarter Dol
