Anyone who has participated in the Proof 3CN market knows that their prices are bottoming out. I haven't seen them this bad in over 20 years of collecting them. Wholesale pricing for pre-1877 PF64 coins is under $300. It's insane. If you ever wanted to collect them. I can't imagine a better time. They're dirt cheap. The whole darn series. [I'm not thrilled with the overall color of what's shown here. I played around with this in Lightroom a lot and will leave it here for now.]

Pardon the expression, but this one looks grotty. Is it reflective at all?
I picked up a 1941 Walker PF65 a month ago. They're not exactly scarce, but they are cheap, well-struck and attractive. IMO the 3CN lacks attractiveness. I'd go for late date gold dollars over this.

Beautiful. The 2 cent proofs are a good deal too I picked up one of those awhile back at a seemingly shockingly low price for a mintage of 600.

I know your point on pricing is for Proof 3CN's pre-1877, and also for PR64's, so my example is admittedly different.
I own only one 3CN (for my Type Set), and it's 1889 (a common date) but it's graded PR67+CAM by PCGS and has a CAC sticker. I paid $1,880. In the past three years, the PCGS Price Guide has gone up from $2,500 to currently at $3,500.
