purchased these one today a the coin shop and they had it on the 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 as a 1821 coin with a cracked planchet , when I got home I and I changed the holder for a 2x2 I took a closer look and it was an 1827 with a craked planchet ? or ragged clip plachet ? with a weight of 2.4 gr .
I agree with you on the date, but am less sure about the planchet. With this amount of circulation wear, I don't see how it is possible to distinguish between rim damage and a ragged planchet at the mint. Otherwise, it a nice pick-up of early 19th Century silver so well done!
