I have a ton of these fed rolls from 1980. The first one I opened had this error on the date. What happened and is it rare or valuable? Also as I opened a few more rolls, there are 1977's in them as well. Is this normal? So far they are almost all 1980 with 2-5 1977's in each roll.

Looks like the 0 took a hit so just damage. Business struck coins get banged around a bit before they ever make it into a roll.

It was mechanically damaged by a Coin Wrapping Machine or whatever caused it. It's just PMD and carry no premium. Not an error, sorry.

Agree--appears to be damage of a mechanical nature--a lateral hit which moved metal. We see similar damage on cents from a variety of dates--usually not the more recent dates, however.

to the CCF These rolls weren't rolled at the mint so can and will contain any date.
