Hello!! Has anyone ever heard of a State Quarter missing a clad on both sides? Does anyone know WHY this coin has a copper appearance on both sides? It weighs 6 grams.

Plated, perhaps? Six grams is a tad overweight. If the cladding was missing, the coin should weigh less.

If cladding were missing, it would be considerably underweight. Correct? Why is it that I only find the science experiments and the environmentally damaged. Story of my life. LOL

Because it happens way, way more than we would like it to happen!

Hang in there, keep looking, and keep asking questions.

That's better . Just some environmental discoloration........

(From a random internet article): "Nickel/Copper aloy alloy can tarnish over time, especially when exposed to moisture, oxidation, air, sweat, or chemicals like hand sanitizers and cleaners. Tarnishing occurs when elements within the metal oxidize, forming a thin layer of corrosion on the surface."

EDIT: Spelling
