I'm in the middle of switching banks. I took my boxes of nickels and pennies and used them to open my account. Unfortunately the banker that opened my account also collects. but the teller that orders the coin said she would be happy to order halves for me. I'll probably keep both accounts open and dump at my old bank (like they've done unto me).

I think the Ned Kelly method of dealing with banks is best. Unfortunately in Australia the banks have now adopted this method when dealing with customers.

most of the tellers at my bank are friendly and I make it known that I collect coins. They even ask if I found anything from time to time. There are however a few tellers that are cranky and rude and act annoyed with your request. I simply learn the names of the friendly ones and ask for them.

Yes I also have found the same traveling around the USA some banks are just real nice and it seems will do anything to please you even though they have never seen you before and others seem like get the )(&*(*&(&^&^ out of our bank.

My local bank at home is pretty nice they seem to get most all the new coins even the LP1 and I hope LP2.

However when it comes to requesting any special orders like one FED box of half's they can't do it I even called the head bank and talked to them sorry no special orders.

Now because we get the best interest at the credit union we have two BIG accounts will not say how much but they will also not order anything. I went to see the manager and reminded her how much we had in there credit union that did no good. HOWEVER I had asked for half's before and it was always we have none but the manager said oh we have $500.00 in half's we can get them for you customer rolls did not do to good on these. But they still will not order any fed boxes for me.

My local bank I also have more than 10,000 in one account but does no good they will not order me anything either. I am in there allot nice to the tellers maybe I will start bringing in candy now and then.

SO I understand I also wonder how some on here say they get the bank to get them 5 and 6 boxes a week when I can't even seem to get anyone to get me one guess it all depends on where you live?
