I don't know eastern coins or what might be stuck to yours, but in general, organic solvents like acetone and xylene work well for cleaning without altering the coin's surfaces.
I'm also a huge fan of a compound called VerdiCare sold in the US. It's targeted for copper coins, but works well for medieval billon & silver. I only mention this because yours looks to be a copper/bronze composition.
Note none of these are going to make your coin shiny or new-looking -- they're for conservation/preservation and removing surface contaminants.
