You can experiment on it,it is not a key date.But as a rule,never clean modern coins.

It has already been 'cleaned' in the past, someone removed corrosion (not all) and that is why you see the pitting on Obverse at 4-5. Little value in that condition so, I agree with John1. Have at it.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.

Unfortunately it is much too far gone to save (and has extensive corrosion) but it's worth doing at least a Verdi-Care treatment on it to stabilize the active corrosion (green spots) and preserve it as a family keepsake.
