My-First-Alexander-The-Great-Tet!

I too am in possession of one of these rare and beautiful coins Alexander Coins. Many thanks to the forum members who have continued knowledge about its history. CNG also provide more details.

(From CNG)
Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 17.20 g, 8h). Lampsakos mint. Struck under Kalas or Demarchos, circa 328/5-323 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aėtophoros seated left; in left field, Artemis Phosphoros standing facing, holding two torches; monogram below throne. Price 1355; ADM II Series V, 28a-d (same obv. die). Deep iridescent tone, underlying luster. EF.

Thanks everyone!

@m01, again pls start a new thread for your coins. I'm glad that you are posting, but in order to give them the attention that they deserve, please showcase them in separate threads. For reference, here is a link to that other thread: http://goccf.com/t/451744#4135040

Certainly not Artemis Phosphoros in the left field. Perhaps a thunderbolt?

Yes, your coin is not the same type as the one listed in CNG.

There are hundreds of varieties of Alexander the Great tetradrachms; some were made during his lifetime and reign, some were made decades or even over a century after he died. Yours appears to be more like this one.
