It just didn't look right. I went to put it from the 2x2 into an airtite, The coin fell on my shirt, (i ahd it leaning on my chest in case it fell it wouldn't hit the florr or anything else.. I caught it and noticed a nice big clean spot where the toning had just been.
The dealer was very nice and offered to return the money right away.

The last time I checked, toning and patina does not come off on your shirt simply by falling against you.It came off easier than choclate on an M&M

I had to tilt it on the airtite to capture the colors.

I love the toning !!

That's beautiful, and I'm not a toning fan. '21's are uncommon with such nice toning. Have you checked it for VAMs? I had to ask.

Sorry to hear that, Gil. I'm glad the seller will accept the return, though.

At this hour (2030 = 8:30PM Pacific Daylight Time), two windows keep popping up in place of the images; Photobucket says the images are no longer there.

I actually have seen that happen. As toning progresses, it actually becomes damage. I have seen monster toned coins that the top layer of the metal had literally separated from the coin and flaked off.
