Maybe this should be under the general numismatic forum, but um unsure.

(I know the photo of the 1846 is terrible)

I'm deciding 1) 1897 p full eagle circulated; diameter is right weight is 16.75 g 2) 1846 half eagle - possibly cleaned and more circulated;diameter is right, details worn, 8.25 g. 3) both.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

Much sharper and larger images needed of the 1846 coin needed. C'mon.

I know! I admitted that in my post. I think I'm just looking more generally...based on my terrible descriptions of the two coins.

I'd go with the 1897 Eagle as that appears to original, the 1846 Half Eagle on the hand does appear to have been polished.

I was leaning that way and felt the half was ex jewelry and there appears to be almost no premium on it as a "moderately scarce" date.
