Someone is likely to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a coin that to me has no real numismatic value. IMO it's a novelty albeit a very scarce novelty.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

If the 1894-S dime had been considered a novelty or unworthy of interest they might have all been worn out in circulation and eventually lost or had unreadable dates.

Of course the '94-S is far more common than the '75 No-S and is well worth the two million it sells for.

Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Even though it's common the '94-S is more than a century old and the 75 (S) isn't even quite a half century old.

And, of course, the '94-S contains $2 worth of silver.

All things are perspective and what we expect.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Very interesting!

All three topics merged.

In the future, will someone please report the duplicate topics instead of replying "seen it".

And once it sells it will hit the news.

Coin dealers may want to take a vacation or they will have to deal with a line of circulation strikes coming to the shop

On the other hand, the CCF new member registration spike could be fun.
