15mm and 1,45gram Fun little coin that was minted 1874-76. These small coins are growing on me even if I get grey hairs trying to photograph them. Cant get a good picture of the reverse sorry for that. Edited by Moniker 09/09/2024 06:11 am

The comparable American coin is the Half Dime at 1.3 grams. Here's an 1864-S. I collect these on and off, and have quite a few of them. Seated liberties are my favorites. They're intricate small versions of the larger denomination coins. Another coin of the same size is the Spanish 1/2 reale. Here's a 1765 Potosi Carlos III cob. What is interesting about these is the king's intertwined monogram. The C is not distinct on this one, but the ARLVS is.

Nice half-dime THQ, I think small coins generally got more misstreated

That half reale was mis-made....typical late Potosi workmanship. The royal initials are clever but much cruder than your Oscar. It is a high quality example, out of Sellschopp's collection. Most of them only have bits of the date and about half of the monogram.

Yeah I mean often the smaller ones was mistreated back in time because of small value but the larger ones was keept safe, so even if made in greater numbers mint state examples are hard to find, many of the swedish riksdalers was mostly used for foreign trade
