As it states on the bottom, its an "unofficial set", presumably made by the Governor for distributing at a ceremony marking the coin issue. Unofficial sets generally carry very little premium on the secondary market.

I think that's a pretty cool set, @triggersmob. How did you come across such a set in Australia, of all places?

For those curious...

John Hoeven was the 31st governor of the state of North Dakota from 2000-2010. He's currently a senator(R) for the same state. In my short search I could not determine why these aftermarket sets were created or how many were made.

Interesting Set,

I Personally have Not seen This set before. It would appear the Governor Took advantage of the Fact, He is a Proud Representative For North Dakota, Slick Idea too......


This Secondary Market Set is a Wonderful way to Hopefully Engage Young Coin Collectors of The Future, ....
