Recently, I purchased an error penny off of ebay and'd like to know more about it, as I do not know much about errors. I also picked up a 1908 S dime today and noticed the date looked like 1808 instead of 1908. When I zoomed in with a camera, it looked like it was just worn to look that way. Not sure what to make of it.

Damage to the date and a lot of wear on the dime.

First coin could be showing a minor Lamination or damage. Second coin is just very worn and damaged.

@Serimus Appears to be mostly wear and tear. As mentioned the E could be slight lamination.

Please only post one coin in each topic you start - it help to avoid confusion on which coin is being commented upon.

the first image is a lamination issue with the planchet
the other coin is a well worn coin. and the last image is so tiny, it is next to being useful to diagnose any issues with the coin.
