Good Morning!

Came across this circulated 1922-D Lincoln Cent last night with what appears to have a smaller O.A. diameter of 18mm. Up against a circulated 1913-S Cent it weighs very close to the same at 3.09 grams but clearly thicker in width. I haven't pulled out my calipers to get down to the nitty gritty but was looking for opinions if it could be anything of historic value or only worth its weight in copper. Thanks, Mike.

They can uniformly shrink down in a equal amount that much from a clothes dryer? Lol, learn something new everyday. Thanks :)

Not an expert on Dryer Coins, but wouldn't L of liberty be partially covered if it is "dryer"? Otherwise seems a plausible explanation...

22-D's are worth a pretty good premium over just copper content. Coins in the condition of yours go for around $15 (+/-) on ebay (as long as your reverse is in the same condition as the obverse)

Either a Dryer Coin or hammered or rolled down mechanically.

If a Dryer Coin, remarkable for its state of preservation.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Not so sure about it being a Dryer Coin due to the fact this was pulled from a broad based family collection dating back nearly 100 years ago that nobody on the outside has had their hands on since, but I do find it odd that the relief of Lincolns entire head, shoulder and back on the circulated 1922-D is clearly proportionally smaller in overall ratio than that of the circulated 1913-S, or any other Wheat cent used to compare to.
