Two weeks ago I found this nice example of Dutch medieval coinage in a field close to the Dutch city of Zierikzee.
It's a small penny, the type is called "kopje" (little head) in the Netherlands and was made between 1222 - 1256.
Mass: 0.54 gr
D: 12 mm

Amazing find. Congratulations.
I'll show this to my grandkids - they need to put down the electronics and experience the real world.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm jealous you guys can find such history in the ground over there!

Do a lot of collectors over there get into detectoring? Do you have any process or procedure you follow, or is it more random?

I purchased a medieval Holland coin from a detectorist in Utrecht last year. He had a whole cleaning process and shared pictures of some of the steps he took. It was quite interesting.
