When I originally scoped this one I thought there was some glue around the eye. I gave it a nice acetone bath and the issue remained. I then took some close up's and viola! The area in question was clearly raised metal. I'm assuming it is a die dent.

However, it is in an unusual spot and an unusual shape.

Your thoughts and opinions are most welcomed.

Well, that certainly is in a strange place on the die.

Could be a Die Dent. It's in a unusual spot for sure.

Maybe a die clash of some kind.

1: Not all "glues" are dissolved by acetone..maybe try a longer soak like 2 or 3 days...

2: IMO I don't think it's a clash nor die dent

3: So that leaves me with a guess... how about a struck through copper foil, it's an odd enough shape.

or 4: just spend it and forget about it.....

Candidate for my UFO file - won't be spending this one. Looked at a lot of coins over the years and this one is unique. Shape is most puzzling. Strike through of some kind is possible.

Doesn't look like there isn't anything in that area to be clashed.....
