I have a question for the mint error process experts out there.
Is the following scenario even possible? I don't know what to call it, say a "Clip Impression" or "Die-based vise job"?
1. Coin 1 gets minted.
2. Coin 1 is only partially ejected.
3. Coin 2 planchet inserted, coin 2 planchet overlaps coin 1.
4. Coin 2 is minted causing coin 1 to be clipped.
Result coin 2 with impression along overlap and coin 1 with clip.
The reason I am asking is that vise jobs tend to have pressure marks on the other side of the coin and this one doesn't.
One way to have that happen is if the 2 coins were squeezed together in the die during minting, then Coin 2 would get an impression and have no mark on the other side.
Here's some images to illustrate.
