I posted re this coin several days ago but not in this "Canada Error" forum. Am uncertain if this is a mint struck error or post-strike damage. Knowledgeable input would be most appreciated...kind rgrds, Rod Z

Just a damaged dime. How it happened doesn't really matter.
It is 80% silver so it has that going for it.

Definite vise job. Let's talk about the "wind" lines in Canada. That much of the coin was clamped in the vise, The line running from 10 to 3 o'clock is so obvious on the obverse. Those wind lines are the surface finish of 1 jaw. Marks left in the jaw from the mill cutter that made it. Flattened rim and legend damage seals it.
