Hello!!!

I have this 1993-P penny that looks like a dull bronze (pink/brown). the pictures don't do the color justice, but I tried! I was wondering what would cause this to happen to a penny?!

Two photos are of the 1993-P penny obv/rev alone. One photo is the obverse compared to a 1964-D penny & the last one is of the reverse vs a 1972-D penny. Hopefully this helps?!?

Thank you (per usual) for all your help & advice!

Have a great day!

Nothing out of the ordinary here. Copper coins take on many different color hues from brown to bright red.

You should not compare a copper plated cent to a none copper plated cent. Always compare the same date and mint mark when making comparisons.Starting in 1982 the mint started minting copper plated zinc core cents,so in 1982 there are both copper and copper plated cents.
