1) It takes too long to find the coin I like, skimming though thousands of ads each week. 2) The set is not uniform enough for my taste. 3) The set in circulated condition is not as cheap as I hoped it would be.

Quote: 1) It takes too long to find the coin I like, skimming though thousands of ads each week. Yeah, the hunt can wear you down. I went through that with the graded Ike set. Time and patience are required. Hang in there! Quote: 2) The set is not uniform enough for my taste. I think it looks good so far. I could say you are being too picky, but you have to be happy with the set. Quote: 3) The set in circulated condition is not as cheap as I hoped it would be. I suppose the circulation cameo is adding to the costs?

Quote: I suppose the circulation cameo is adding to the costs? I think the issue is the strange pricing of Morgan dollars. Normally, the price of MintState coins is much higher than that of About Uncirculated (AU) coins. And AU coins are typically much more expensive than circulated coins. However, in the case of Morgan dollars the price differences seem to be relatively small implying that circulated Morgan dollars are "too expensive " relative to uncirculated Morgan dollars.
