I enjoyed fantastic results during October -- and November is off to a good start. This afternoon while traveling between two "dump" banks, I passed a branch of a regional bank I generally don't visit because it is very difficult to reach their tellers. Fortunately, I decided to make a "cold" visit. A teller told me he had 41 rolls of half dollars because a customer had ordered a Loomis box but purchased only 9 rolls. I had a lot of cash from visiting a dump bank, so I decided to acquire them.

Examining the rolls in my car I was surprised to see a Walking Liberty ender (a 1934-D coin). Finding that coin meant I had a good chance of finding additional ones. I was discouraged when didn't find anything interesting in the first eight rolls. But then my luck changed -- I eventually found four more Walking Liberty half dollars (a 1918-P coin, two 1934-S coins, and a 1947-D coin); a tarnished 1964 Kennedy half dollar; and two 40% silver Kennedy half dollars. Three of the older half dollars were missing from my coin collection.

I managed to reach the manager of that branch and asked her to order two more Loomis boxes for me. Perhaps I'll be lucky enough to find more coins from this "collection dump".
