Hello. I am new to coin collecting and new to this forum. I would like to know if what I am seeing in the lettering of "UNITED STATES" is a common dds error. Although not as pronounced, "AMERICA" has the same irregularity. I have provided a closeup image to illustrate the potential error on the cent. I am happy to provide more if needed. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Not convinced that's split plating--might be. The lighting used in the photography may be showing glare across the tops of the letters. A new photo taken without glare across the tops would be good to see. Thanks.

Good evening @Dearborn & @ijn1944. Apologies for my delay in my reply, had to finish up a lot of yard work this afternoon. I uploaded a new closeup photo of "STATES" under natural light. Hopefully this image provides a clearer image for your review. Thank you both for your help. Cheers!

The new picture confirms it. It's indeed Split Plating.
Errers and Varietys.

RayzorAIM, What are you using to take the pics with? Photos are not bad but need a bit of tweaking. Too much glare and a little out of focus.Tell us make and model of camera and lighting set up and we may have a tip or two to help you. John1

@John1 I am using my iPhone to take photo then reducing the size of the file using Coin Community's recommended compression tool PixlrAI.
