This could possibly be a doubled die, but certainly is not the big valuable one. Still would have some value if it's a doubled die. It would require much closer examination to tell.
IMHO, it is Machine (Strike) Doubling! Note that the doubling is South primarily on the first "9" and the "6" in the Date and the Mintmark is doubled Southward as well.
I am relatively certain of the same thing, but the doubling on the mintmark is much sharper than the doubling on the date. That's what I would need to confirm on the coin to be able to assess whether it's Machine Doubling.
Thanks for all the input so far, I'm going to try and find one of those microscopes that you can take pictures of and hook it up to your computer, that should help. So I guess i'll put this in a 2X2 for now, thanks again for the help!
