I have two 1987D dimes, one with a possible misplaced mint mark. The MM in question is located almost on top of the number 7. The other example has the mark higher and closer to Roosevelt's neck. Please let me know if I'm seeing this correctly. If I'm wrong on which one is the actual MM error, or totally wrong on both, please let me know. Thanks
"The United States Mint stopped hand punching mint marks into working dies in 1989. The change was implemented in stages for different types of coins: 1990: The procedure changed for circulating cents and 5-cent coins 1991: The changes were implemented for circulating dimes, quarters, and half dollars "
