You should have soaked it in acetone for awhile .
Then used coin conditioner.

We can see the discoloration in the photos - that's clear enough. But what does the surface look like at 10X? PCGS knows, and gave this coin a Details designation.

Not just the color.......

What I see from zooming in is pitting along the jaw line from the neck to her temple. Same problem on the reverse in the field under the eagles left wing (our viewing right).

The overview is not bad, but when I zoom in I can see this as well. Thank you for pointing it out.

I believe what others are seeing is simply a toning pattern and not corrosion. Below is a comparable example, although more dramatic, showing similar toning in the left obverse field. I've seen this many times from coins that spend decades in flips, mostly from secondary toning over cleanings.

I believe the OP coin would straight grade no problem, with the environmental damage referring to the terminal toning in the obverse and reverse periphery. There is a black cloudiness that is apparent but I think would be market acceptable after a few tries.

I also see the pitting in the same areas that @GF has pointed out. Subtle under the toning but it's there.
