Andddd I'm back lol My search of the house coin collection was on pause this past weekend as I was away on a girls trip. One of the places we visited was an old "ghost town" (that also used to be a gold mine). They had a small museum which also had a small shop attached to it where they sold some the antique/old things that were on display. Included was a small section of old coins! Ofc I had to stop and look at them (and purchase some of them haha). So one the coins I left with was this 1923 Peace dollar Coin. While inspecting it in the shop I noticed that there are (what looks like to me) possible die cracks on the obverse and the reverse of this coin. I'm here looking for confirmation/clarification on my assumption.

Note: The coin is still in the make-shift protector they sold it in (I didn't have a chance to remove it yet to place it in my album).

On the obverse I found 3 of them.
1. From below the "W" in we until a little past the "T" in trust.
2. Through the top portion of her bun
3. Through the lower portion of her bun and past that extend until about the center right of the coin.

On the reverse I found 1 that starts from below the "U" through the eagle's neck until the lower/middle portion of the "N".

Thoughts?

Yup, those are die cracks. They are rather common for Peace dollars. They don't add much value to a coin but interesting anyway. They usually are not assigned a variety number unless there is something else going on like a die break, see Vamworld.com To me it looks like original surface, hasn't been cleaned, that's good.

I agree with the Peace dollar having die cracks. Out of the 50 or so Unc. Peace dollars in my collection
more have visible die cracks than not.

@Tacc - Yes, I read that about them. They sure are pretty coins! I found it interesting (and slightly dark lol) how there are die cracks through both lady Liberty's neck & the eagle's head/neck. I also didn't have one in my collection yet so I needed to take her home with me.

They are really nice coins. Great design. I was lucky enough to get my Grandfather's collection including
all the Peace dollars, which were his favorites. He immigrated from Sicily in 1903 to NYC, and he always talked
about when he first saw The Statue of Liberty in NY harbour on his way to Ellis island.
