Not my coin. It's not what I expected after reading the description, these reeds look pretty darn perfect.

The weight is 2.84g, The diameter is 19 mm

I suppose the only way to know for sure is to have an expert look at it. A known example of a much earlier year does not show the reeds coming around as far on the edge though.

Hmm, interesting

I checked numista with your specs, and no foreign non-precious coin matches the weight and diameter. Therefore, it could be this planchet went through a reeding machine before being stuck with the 1902 dies at the mint, so a possible human assisted error. The weight we all know should be around 3.11g, but this as you said is underweight probably from being buried and corroded down to the current weight.

I'm going to be a skeptic on this one. If it was a genuine error or even mint-assisted, I can't imagine it hanging around in circulation for so long. Rather, I bet it is a fake altogether or at least a real coin that has been reeded more recently and then chucked in a fire to cover up those tracks.
