Please take a look at these two 2006 P Colorado State Quarters. There is a small die chip in the 2nd "O" in "COLORFUL" on reverse. I found the first one and just thought it took a hit in the "O", but then I found the second one in the same role of quarters so I knew it was something. Amazing that they were in the same loomis roll as circulated as the coins have been.

Yes I agree with it likely being a die chip. Will you save this in a 2x2 or is it a spender for you?

Spence - I will keep them for now. I'm getting quite a variety of die chips now after looking at all denominations of coins for the last year and half.

Ok good to know @ted. A while back, someone created a short *.gif showing the progression of a die chip in its various stages of severity. Might be fun to do something similar with this if you are finding a lot of them.

Pretty cool - so that would have been chipped of off the protruding "O" from the die.
