I sent something off to PCGS this week and it spurred me to think about this.

I have never had any issues sending coins to PCGS and over time I have sent submissions with a wide range of declared values (including nil with the package marked as goods or return). I have never had a parcel stopped at the border and neither PCGS nor I have ever paid any duties.

But what if there are across the board duties on goods shipped from Canada? There will have to be an unambiguous way to ship things down temporarily or that will be the end of US grading for Canadian coins.

Thoughts?

When and if these tariffs are implemented, PCGS, NGC, etc. Will need to have a clear answer to the question.

However, since nothing has currently changed and the new Administration doesn't begin until January 20th 2025, it is wait and see. Unlike Parliamentary systems, where the government changes almost immediately, it is nearly three months for a new President to be sworn in.

Duties are a different subjectd, but Fedex has been collecting the GST and PST based on the grading fees my last 3 orders.

There is an old Newfy saying
" just a guy spitting into a wind storm
it will end up all over his face "
Much ado about nothing in my opinion.
But we won't make this political !
