Quote:The Newest ASE series direction Will have the Military themes To be fair, next year is the 250th Anniversary of these 3 branches of the military, so to brush off as a theme seems a little unfair. They have other coins or medals associated with this and they decided to produce a Privy ASE for it as well seems "altogether fitting and appropriate that they should do so". PS but I also hope they don't make a habit out of 3 Privy marked proof ASEs a year #128517;

Gilly Stated: " PS but I also hope they don't make a habit out of 3 Privy marked proof ASEs a year #128517; " My sense of the Forward direction in the ASE program Exactly, We will just Pray the Privy marks do NOT become Over-Populated, Year after Year..... Gilly I Did Not mean to be casting any unfairness upon Any one, My choice of words had No Shadows, No hidden meanings...I am serious Too. ps, Proofs are nice, Some Enhanced Unc's would Help....

I'd hope they don't think they need to redo the proof privys every year. I'm begining to think, hopefully I'm wrong, that the Mint thinks it can pass off privy "250" coins for the 250th US anniversary as being "enough".

I've been looking things over and analyzing it a bit, thinking things over. For the military 250th anniversary ASEs, they don't describe what's different about them. I know the sales code numbers typically don't mean anything. Typically it's the 2 digit year and 2 letters, again which aren't abbreviations for anything, just seemingly random letters. However in this case, they first of all switched to 3 letters. Army is APM, Marines MPM, and Navy NPM. So even though they don't state "Privy Mark", it does seem a little more than random to me. I do recall that the type 2 ASE designs were coded the same as the type 1 designs, except an "N" added at the end, such as 21EA became 21EAN. Then in 2022 went back to the usual code. Second observation. They were going to make the Flowing Hair 230th Anniversary dollars and medals part of the Liberty Coin program, but decided not to. I don't see any classic design coin or medal for 2025, I wonder if that was just abandoned? Just an unrelated question since I'm here. What happened to that program where you sort of were buying a mystery coin, I thought it was promoted by one of the grading companies that was trying to change the grading system to be similar to sports card grading, instead of 70, the best grade is 10. I can't even remember the name, X Box or Red Box or something. I haven't heard anything about that for months.

Gilly, Leave it to an All Original Package Collector like yourself to make mention of these Lettered and Numbered U S Mint's Product Codes. " Army is APM, Marines MPM, and Navy MPM. " I'm going with the common ( P ) in the middle to clearly see the Mint's designations... P = Privy.. As far as your other ending topic, Not My Thing..... Thanks Again Gilly for your perspectives on Coin Collecting along with " all original packaging " insights....

@gilly: Are you referring to "VaultBox" ? It uses either the Sheldon Scale or NGCX's 10 point scale. Here's a link to their website: https://vaultbox.com/why-vaultbox/#...20authentic.Why would the Marine and Navy share the same "MPM" designation ? Or is that a typo ?

Quote: @gilly: Are you referring to "VaultBox" ? Yeah that's it. Again I just haven't heard any mention of it, unsure it's cooling off, it was a hot topic for awhile. Not really my thing, but I like keeping up on the trends.

Quote: besides the obvious, Being the U S Marines are a Part of the U S Navy Hate to wander off topic. My dad was drafted into the Marines during Korea. After he came back he married my mom and after a few different jobs, settled on car mechanics. He ran and eventually owned his own service station, had a good clientele because he was a good guy, knew what he was doing, although sometimes gruff, he was well respected and honest. He didn't blow the "veterans horn" much, like wearing any attire, but belonged to the VFW and volunteer fire department. So, many VFW members came in, I got to know many WW2 vets. So one day in the service station he was talking with one Navy vet who ran a lumber company, just shooting the breeze. And you know how the Navy and Marines kind of go back and forth. This guy says to my dad "Hey you know why they have Marines on Navy ships?" My dad knew it was a joke, so he just kind of shrugged his shoulders. "So the swabbos have someone to dance with!". He did kind of look towards me and chuckled.

Quote:I only got my "feet wet" on ordering day crushes when they had the order days for the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars. So pardon my ignorance. I know the Gold V75 Eagles was a mess, as well as the 2019S ERP. Were the ASE V75s also a 2 minute sell out and the site kept crashing? In the past it was hectic where everyone would get let on. You would log in 10 min before with CC and shipping already saved on your account. You would click the link 10 times to pull up 10 separate tabs of the product. Pages that loaded, click the add to cart. Once you get one in your cart you close all tabs but current then open 10 separate tabs of your cart. Continue until you get an order number. It took forever and you had to fight forever. I had like 10 checkouts going at the same time. Very annoying. I kinda miss those days as it was truly limited number of coins instead of these high mintage, overpriced coins of now.
