This example was part of the Palos Verda collection at CC last Sunday lots of nice variety Lincolns were up for grabs. Coin photos very subtle much nicer in hand and though not as strong as its big brothers it does not disapoint. Prices down dramatically since 2022 could be more found or just many becoming availible last 14 months? Enjoy the pics and theres an MS RD example lingering at $1,950 at GC ends this Sunday. Coin Frog yes I know its more BN than RB

Hammerd at $1,605.00 that was a pleasent surprise to say the least. These are everywhere now it seems 7 years ago you couldnt pry one out with a crowbar? Even though mostly brown than RB it cartwheels like a lightning bug...my thoughts are PCGS conserved it its just too immaculate for out the bag look.

Hi Cammy! Yes, great buy and true these have come down a lot. The one in my collection is one of the few "losers" I've bought, which is now worth a lot less than I paid for it. But I was doing the DDO-001 collection and a bunch of these came on the market so I figured I'd better grab while they were available. Not my best move, and I still had to pay to cross it over to PCGS. But your patience has paid off and you've scored a beauty at a great price. Congrats!

Yes Tbats its like silver you don't loose a dime unless you sell. Big community small world dug up an old youtube vid where blueridgesilverhound was mussing about the XF45 he found in 1999 and sold for 600 that same example hammerd at GC for $1,850 in 2018. I know the feeling I bought an AU58 1992 D Close AM in 2017 and watched the price plummet and the pop climb since then will likely not recover my cost as near 200 Close AM's now!
Merry Christmas to everyone and hope a shiny new VDB extra V cent in an NGC holder is in everyones stocking.

There's probably another one of these, lying undisturbed in the back of a long-neglected sock drawer. Somewhere.

I hear that jjn better yet an unopened bank roll of 50 with 7 MS RD examples sitting in a bank vault in western Idaho! my go to die variety book "Athoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents: Wexler 2009" mentions 2-3 dozen known. From what I gather 100+ reported 2024 in pop reports combined mostly RD examples.Pops ikely skewed some from re-subs but auction sells show this coin availible more frequently so who knows 25 maybe 30 fresh examples in last 20 years? I bet John Wexler could give a good throwout opionion on these. My hypothisis is more were found in onesie's maybe twosie's.

That's a beauty. Congrats on the coin and thanks for the insight on the market.

Nice looking DDO. Congratulations on the purchase.

I have an entire 50 coin roll of BU 1970-S cents that I put away as a child. Haven't looked at them for decades now. Perhaps I should take them out and see if I have any of these.
