So I have this 1992? D dime.....I'm guessing 1992 but really not sure. What would this error even be called and has anyone seen it before? Well I'm sure someone has.
Oh and spot above his ear?

I guessing its a 7 with displaced metal from a circulation hit. That's a small die chip above the ear. There are more near the dark crease in his hair. These chips are very common on dimes.

This has to be circulation damage of some type. There is no other reasonable explanation.

Agree with all above--post-strike damage has 'consumed' that last digit. The coin didn't leave the striking chamber in that condition.

Has to be circulation-related.
