Found this offcenter/Mis-struck 2011 toonie CRH.
I was looking for thoughts on the reverse core. The left side of the reverse core is jagged and not a circle (photos 4,5,6 & 7).
How would this happen during the minting process? Thanks.

Looks like a counterfeit, but shifteted inserts will have the design on the ring

It happens once in awhile. The brass core is not fully seated in the ring when struck. You see them for sale on ebay occasonally.
If it is showing space between the ring and core, these are the ones collectors like.

Thanks for the feedback. The weight is 7.24g and I'm pretty confident it is not a counterfeit.
I have attached an overlay showing the obverse core outline (green) and the reverse core outline in red. I'm wondering why the left side of the reverse core is jagged and a different size/shape. Why would the brass core be a different size/shape on one side vs the other?
The right side of the core is in the same position on the obverse & reverse.

I found this slightly off struck toonie in a 2005 Oh Canada set. It's not as pronounced as JimmyD's.

That 2005 set is a good one, there not rare but scarce in PL strikes. I did own a few in the past.

The answer to your question is that if the center core is off center then it must be overlapping the outer ring. Of course it overlaps on one side or the other. During the striking of the coin, the pressure is going to force the overlapping areas together and the metal will flow as it does and flatten out. The core was overlapping the ring on the obverse so we see the brass colour overlapped there but not on the reverse because of this.
