Very odd color, but decent details. Is this possibly a dug coin?

Not a dig coin, but that haze is from many decades toning in a flip. Seen it many times in collections.

I'll say AU-50, but not a fan of the toning.

Would acetone help this? Would it grade straight?

I don't think acetone would do much one way or another on this coin. I don't see any obvious organics on this coin, which is what acetone will remove.

Has anyone here used PCGS' Restoration services? Do you think this would be a candidate for that?

53/55 - Perhaps I am alone, but I don't think the look is too bad.

Leave it as is. I find it quite attractive and it would be risky to even attempt any sort of "conservation." It's a nice AU coin and there's no reason at all to monkey with it.

You would have to ask William Kneass to get the most accurate answer to your question.

In hand the coin may look totally different. The color could be from the lighting used for the photos.
