I remember reading something about die strikes or scratches on bottom of Lincoln beard and behind head but for the love of me I cannot find it under die scratches on Error-ref.
Like always please point me in the correct direction.

This is just damage, probably deliberate.

No "Die" - just "Scratches". Scratches are incuse (below the surface) and die polishing lines/scratches are raised (above the surface).

Agree, post-strike damage--likely deliberate.

As others have said, damage to the coin. I am currently going through several 62P's in AU/BU condition right now and have found that probably 90% or better have had the die scratched that you describe, even though yours are from damage, thought I would post the pic below. I feel that there was an issue with clashed coins that year, even though there are none listed.... My thinking is there was one mint worker making the coins and another cleaning up the others messes.
