Greetings members!

This is my first attempt at a post. I do believe I have attached two photographs obverse and reverse of this 1981 Lincoln Memorial cent, but I am internetly challenged and after trying only about a dozen times I was able to finally save and upload the photos. I don't see an attachment notification anywhere so if they're not here somebody let me know and once I figure out how to follow up on my first message I'll try again .but if they're uploaded, I can't find a duplicate of this penny in either an error or variety anywhere please advise.1981-LMC-Struck-Through-Grease?

For sure a Dryer Coin, see how everything is puffy and the rim has been smashed evenly against the letters?

HA! Well that would clearly explain why I can't find it on anybody's variety or error page...
You mean literally this coin went through somebody's dryer and that's how it came out? Wow, as durable as American coins are I would have thought that somebody in the higher-ups would have planned for that possibility....
I got more I'll keep them coming.

Yes it looks like typical damage from being cooked in a clothes dryer.

It doesn't just go through the dryer cycle. It gets stuck in between the inner and outer drums of commercial dryers and between tumbling and rolling it comes out like that.

Click on the link Dryer Coin for some really great illustrations as to how it happens and some extreme examples.
