These words coming out of my mouth in a crowded public place typically evoke the response "Don't you dare!" from my wife ...I pick it up anyway knowing full well I am going to be smacked with whatever she may be holding at the time. I suppose the fact that I spot it from many feet away and and loudly say the phrase while making a beeline for it doesn't help my cause much . I just can't help myself . In all seriousness, my wife is very supportive of my "condition" as she calls it...hardly even rolls her eyes anymore! LOL Anyone else have this "condition"? PS-I do refrain from looking through the "give a penny..." tray while with her as this might push her tolerance over the edge....

I have pulled many a Wheatie from the Give/Take Penny cup. I always replace it, though.

My wife also rolls her eyes when I pick up pennies from the floor. I'm also guilty of glancing at the penny tray. More recently so that I can try and find a new Lincoln in circulation!

I am one of the people that drop them and leave them for people like you. I have absolutely no interest in pocket change of today and I don't even go through the bucket I throw it all in when I clean out my pockets. When it gets full I just take it to the bank and cash it in

Quote: gmherps13: I pulled an LP1 from the Cefco gas station "G.A.P., T.A.P", tray. I intentionally put an AU Log Cabin Cent in a "G.A.P.,T.A.P." tray two days ago (obverse up). I always pick up Cents. In fact, I got excited when I saw a BU Cent on the ground (obverse up) in the parking lot at work yesterday, because I thought at first glance that it might be a Log Cabin Cent and I'd get to have a 'ground find'! It was a 2008-D, oh well...
