The newest addition to my 19th-Century European coppers. It was sold as Uncirculated; in-hand, I tend to agree. I bought it for the color patterning, anyways.

Knowing this is not an uncommon issue, what might the value be?

Very nice coin. These eagle designs are one of my favorites.

Take the Krause value with a grain of salt. Like many other 18th century coins, I think they undervalue these.

Real nice example.
You don't see 'em very often in such condition.
And I think Krause undervalued.
I'd say 'it's a keeper'

You'd best believe it's getting kept.

This was not my intended purchase; the coin I'd originally intended to buy had been misplaced by the high-volume ebay seller. It was a Morgan VAM which likely got mistakenly shipped to the wrong buyer, and I received the wrong coin from him. No big thing; mixups happen and what the seller does about it is far more important than the original mistake.

Well, this seller did the right thing by me. He kept in constant communication - he ransacked his inventory looking for my coin - when it turned out to be gone, he immediately offered a full refund including my cost for shipping the wrong coin back to him, or another from his inventory.

Which is why I have this Centime. It already had my eye, and he sent it without hesitation or compensation even though his price for it was $10 more than the price I'd paid for the original Morgan.

So, this dealer goes on my list of people I'd recommend without hesitation. Here's his ebay Store:
