Good evening. I opened a sealed cellophane wrapped 1976 D Bicentennial mint pack so I could fill some holes in my Dansco folders and found this dollar that appears to have a lot of DDD/MD. It also has a bunch of evenly spaced "grooves" on the obverse that looks like some sort of damaged caused when being ejected from the chamber. (I'm guessing). Thanks for your comments and opinions.

can you give us a better image of the reeded section, more of the edge, while still seeing some of the rim and field by the date?

Right - damage from the cellophane packaging sealing machine. MD also. Your coin is pretty beat up for being in a "Mint set".

I'll agree with the cello sealing machine damage. I just wanted to see if the marks lined up with the reeds on the edge.

All Ikes are keepers.

This one just needs some notations added for future reference.

Thanks for the comments. I agree that all Ike's are keepers. Love that "hefty" feel and makes me think of the old cowboy days.

And be used as sinkers to keep your bait on the bottom of the river when you are fishing for catfish!
