@ Coinfrog: My father was a hobbyist and tried to keep them from corrosion but coins went in tubes without any removing of contaminants. As I go through them, I noticed verdigris starting and carbon spots. I'll have them out again soon to put in acetone and probably at least a dip on Verdicare.

@Seeker. I have developed a coin solution over the years just for coins like yours - Never for anything BUT circulated coppers with problems. If you would like a sample send me a PM with your address - I will send you a small squeeze bottle with instructions. I send for free just to help Copper Cent collectors. That is why I say "Try on junk copper cents" first - but it has always worked for me.
