I know the regular 2007 PL set with the straight 7 has more premium. I also have a straight 7 in the Holiday set ( Christmas Tree) . Is this normal or is it supposed to be curved also? The only other one I have is the 2007 curved 7, $2 mule with the silver core listed in Colonial Acres.

I have an older Charlton for mint issues and it lists the 2007 holiday set as having the straight 7 dime. I just checked my 2007 birthday set and my 2007 holiday set and they both have the straight 7.
As a side note, the 2007 birthday set has a non magnetic penny and the 2007 holiday set has a magnetic penny. I believe these sets were supposed to have magnetic pennies so I would check your set.

The rarer 2007 set worth the premium.

Quote: I may have lucked out ,my one cent is the logo non magnetic. The other set is regular magnetic. Excellent! The mintage on the 2007 non magnetic cent is quite low compared to the magnetic cent so I'm thinking that the "non magnetic" set should carry a premium given its an error set.

The polyfilm sets had magnetic pennys in them, the other gift sets had a combination of non mag and mag 1 cents and its not an error just normal.

I think there is an ongoing confusion between Uncirculated sets (PL 1976-2010) and Gift Sets (PL 1994-2003, partial PL 2004-2010). In some cases Charlton lumps those under "NC" category. Specifically for 2007: 1 cent CPZ has a relatively low mintage of 9,625,000, which makes its rolls somewhat scarce. But the coin itself is readily available from any of 12 different gift sets issued in 2007. I have not seen a 2007 gift set with a CPS coin, but it would not be an error because there are no specs printed on those gift sets. Two 2007 Uncirculated/PL sets (Regular and Olympic) should contain a CPS/magnetic 1 cent as listed on the specifications card. Having a CPZ coin there would be an interesting packaging error.
With regard to 2007 10 cent coin: All circulation and Gift sets are Straight 7. Regular and Olympic PL sets contain Curved 7, but some scarce Regular PL sets contain Straight 7. Some people and some coin stores call the coins from gift sets "PL" and claim rarity, but it is the same circulation strike. The actual Straight 7 PL is quite different. It has slightly smaller devices and much wider rims (in addition to bright BU/PL finish).

You are correct in that the specs aren't included in the gift sets, so technically, it isn't an error set. It's the description in the Charlton catalogue that is misleading. However, I would still put a premium on set with the non magnetic penny due to the lower mintage. My apologies for getting off track as the original post was about the 2007 sets with the straight 7 dime. Again, I am getting off topic, but I would love to see pictures of this set as this is the first time that I've heard about it. Maybe you could post pics under a new thread?

A picture of the mule $2 set is in Colonial Acres Royal Canadian Mint Products 2007. The 2 dollar was off in colour and was XRF to show that 0.30% silver was found in the inner core. The price is $45 and of course there is none in stock.
