I got a chuckle out of this NGC slab. 1965 nickel, slab says 1963. Would CAC meta-encapsulate it as an "error slab"?

Just adding a picture here so that when that auction comes down, folks can still learn from this thread.

It's a mechanical error, NGC will fix it for free, contact customer service. It has no additional value beyond an MS66 1965 nickel.

An indication of how much time they REALLY spend looking at the coins. I'd say a great majority of the UNC Jefferson nickels sent to NGC end up at MS66. I think they just slap them in a slab without really evaluating the coin.

I'm sure that someone just clicked the wrong list item in the labeling software. But they should really be doing a basic check on the slab prior to shipping.
